Have you heard about Ban Bossy?  Here's the campaign video featuring Beyonce, Jennifer Garner, Jane Lynch, and more.  You can also watch it on YouTube here, but I wouldn't suggest reading the comments.

This started with The book Lean In.  They've partnered with Girl Scouts (more than 59 million American women were a girl scout in their childhood making this  an important outreach).

"When a little boy asserts himself, he's called a “leader.” Yet when a little girl does the same, she risks being branded “bossy.” Words like bossy send a message: don't raise your hand or speak up. By middle school, girls are less interested in leading than boys—a trend that continues into adulthood. Together we can encourage girls to lead."
