In case this is your first week, here's what it's all about.  Generally Mondays are considered pretty sucky right?  Well, let's change that.  Instead of focusing on what sucks about Monday, we'll talk about what made us smile throughout the rest of the week, to start the week on a positive note!

The Rules!  (These are really just kind suggestions)

1. Follow your hosts: Cassandra and Raewyn!

2. Link up your post that includes 5-ish things that made you smile in the past week

3. Comment after you link up

4. Go visit some other blogs and make some friends!

5. Have fun, and don't forget to smile!!

My 5 Little Grins from this week include. . .

1. I got to watch A LOT of movies over spring break.
-Tangled
-Teen Beach Movie
-Despicable Me
-The Wizards of Waverly Place Movie
-Cloud 9
-Divergent
-Ridealong*
-Ender's Game (twice)*
-Wolf of Wallstreet
-The Hangover (twice)*
-The Hangover Part 2
-Mean Girls*

2. A family friend took me to see Divergent.  She used to be my dance teacher and it's always fun to hang out with her!

3. I got to hangout with Katie most of the week!  The starred movies are ones I saw with her.  So sad that it was the last major amount of time I'm spending with her until Fall!  We'll be spending most of the summer further away and unfortunately she has softball making it hard to visit.

4. We had family friends come over for dinner on Friday.  We haven't really seen them since their daughter's graduation party back in June so it was great to catch up!

5. On Saturday we went to Evanston and I got fitted for new pointe shoes.  It was fun and the lady doing the fitting was so nice and very thorough.  Unfortunately, today my teacher decided she absolutely hates them so convincing her I can break them in will be fun.

The Sunday Currently (March 30th)

New here?  Follow us on Bloglovin'!  We're almost to 500 followers (and there will probably be a giveaway when we reach it).
Today is my last day of Spring Break from dance, and I couldn't be happier.  I've missed dance a lot!

Yesterday I got fitted for new pointe shoes, though.  It was so great- I'm really happy with the shoes I got.  The lady who fit me was so nice and really new all the shoes.  We spent about an hour going through all of them.  It was probably the most in depth fitting I had, and they didn't even charge us for the fitting itself!  If you're in the Chicago-area, you should definitely check out Allegro Dance Boutique if you ever need to be fit for pointe shoes.

Today, I am currently. . .

Reading Macbeth for school.  We actually read it aloud in fifth grade, and when I was in 3rd grade, that year's 5th grade performed it for us.  It makes most of it quite easier to understand.

Writing this blog post and many more for April.

Listening to Leverage in the background.  I've seen all of them, but it is really the only thing on right now.  Earlier we watched Wolf of Wall Street.  I didn't realize it was three hours long when I made the commitment to watch it, though.  What is with Leonardo DiCaprio and looooonnnngggg movies??

Thinking about how interesting tomorrow's ballet class will be, especially after a whole week off.

Smelling nothing really.

I hope you have a great Sunday and make sure to follow us on Bloglovin!  If you're interested in partaking in the giveaway we'll have when we reach 500, email us.

#SELFIE

New here?  Follow us on Bloglovin'!

We've got to hang out practically all week.  Throughout the week, we've watched like 5 different movies together!  (and that only counts the ones we watched together!)

Overall we agree that this was a great spring break, although a little lacking in the Spring part.

On Wednesday, we made candles in bottle caps with crayons.  It was quite the process, so we were jamming the whole time!

This song is pretty entertaining, although rather odd, it's fun.

There's an instrumental version too if she bothers you too much :)

We Used to Make Music Videos. . .

New here?  Follow us on Bloglovin'!

Hey!  Happy Hump Day and Make Your Own Holiday Day!  This is also our 300th post!  Can you believe it?  ANNND we're only NINE followers away from 500 on Bloglovin'.  So many great things going on today :)

Did you guys know we used to make music videos?  Well, we did and our YouTube username was pretty interesting.

Our first channel was called BumbleBeeBuzzzBuzzz.  If you'r going to check those videos out, I would suggest starting with this playlist.  Personally, I think they're pretty good considering I was in 5th grade at the time and we didn't have a tripod, so the entire time I was attempting to line the net picture up with the last.

Our next channel, and the one we currently use when we need to upload something, is called Glowormiez.  I had let my brother use this channel for a while before I sort of took it back, so some of the first videos are very interesting.

I think the best video on this one would have to be our "Tea Remix".  Pretty much we video taped each of the elements involved of making tea, then used the sound to make a "song" type thing.  It was fun, but I do think we could have done better.

If we started making videos again, would you watch them?  Have you made similar videos?  Leave a link in the comments for us!

While cleaning out my closet a while ago, I found some interesting pieces of art from when I was younger.  Do you remember doing crafts like these in preschool or kindergarten?

I honestly don't remember anyone named Claudia at all.

Obviously I was always hella rad

My 5 Little Grins from this week include. . .

1. On Monday, my dad bought and brought shamrock shakes for all the girls who had a break before classes.  It was so much fun and everyone loved them!  It totally surprised me and was so nice of him- he even went to the grocery store to get someone soy ice cream since they can't eat dairy.

2. We got to start our recital dance in tap even though we weren't technically supposed to.  It's fun so far.

3. I went to the mall with Katie on Friday.  It was entertaining just walking around.  I can't wait until we move out to the boat and can do that all the time!

4. We had family friends over on Saturday to make ravioli.  We made probably around 400-500ish.  It was so much fun, and now we have ravioli for awhile.

5. We all went over to my great grandmother's on Sunday.  It was great to see all of the family again- we hadn't since Christmas.

The Sunday Currently (March 23rd)

New here?  Follow us on Bloglovin'!  We're almost to 500 followers (and there will probably be a giveaway when we reach it).
Hey guys!  It is currently my spring break from dance.  According to The Fucking Weather, it is currently "20°?! IT'S FUCKING COLD"  How about that for spring break?  I finished last week's work on Wednesday and had planned on working through this week so I could take off of school too, but I had absolutely no motivation to do so.  So, I didn't.  I have a few live sessions I have to attend tomorrow anyway, so it isn't a huge deal I guess.

Right now, we are at 490 followers on Bloglovin.  We're so thankful to have all of you hanging out with us.  We didn't really expect to gain much of a readership, but we're so glad you all have found our blog and enjoy it!  We're all always interested in what you have to say so feel free to leave a comment and strike up a conversation!

This Sunday, I am currently. . .

Reading Cinder by Marissa Myer although I don't think I will finish it before it is due back at the library.  It is good so far, but kind of frustrating to read since I accidentally reserved it in huge print.  oops

Writing this blog post.  Other than that, I'm not really writing anything.

Listening to my mother's sewing machine.  My parents did the canvas for our boat (like the sides and windows for the top) and our dock neighbors asked them if they could repair theirs.

Thinking about everything I need/should/want to do.  It's quite a lot.  Good thing I don't have dance this week.

Smelling bread and pasta.  We had family friends over yesterday to make ravioli.  We taught them how to make it so they don't have to buy it or any other type of pasta anymore.  It is a huge money saver since pasta is so versatile.  Plus, we made around 400 between the meat and the cheese, so they got to take quite a bit home to.

Hoping today goes smoothly.  My great grandmother invited us all over for dinner.  There is usually plenty of family drama, so I guess we'll see how that goes.

Wearing hair rollers for starters.  Since I don't have to put my hair in a bun much this week, I can stand to actually do stuff with it.  It's great!

Wanting it to get warmer soon.  Most of the snow has finally melted, but now they are calling for more on Wednesday.

I hope you have a great Sunday and make sure to follow us on Bloglovin!  If you're interested in partaking in the giveaway we'll have when we reach 500, email us.

I'm linking up with Whitney again this week.  Spring break for dance is next week, but I don't have off of school technically and instead of continuing to work ahead, I kind of just stopped working on Wednesday. Oops.

Back in January (I think) I finally finished Sherlock.  It took me way longer than it should have considered there are NINE episodes.  Oh well.  It was really good and you should definitely watch it if you haven't already.  The music they use is pretty great and extremely entertaining to do school work to (when I actually do it).

I Can't Wait For Summer Beacause

New here?  Follow us on Bloglovin'!

I can't wait for summer because. . .

We'll move back out to the boat and all problems seem a lot smaller on the boat.

I won't have to shovel the driveway (not that I am right not, but with out current temperatures it really could snow at any moment).

I can bike/ walk everywhere & there is a lot more to get to down town.

I can use the fitness room at the marina every morning.

My scalp can finally get a break from being in a bun every day.

Maybe the grass and trees will actually be green which would be plenty prettier than the various shades of brown we're currently graced with.

I won't have to make any more presentations for school.

I watch the sunset pretty much every night.

I can wear all my dresses and shorts and cute crop tops I have tucked away in drawers.

I won't have to worry about how long my showers are since we don't pay for the water.  (For the record I can shower- including shaving my legs and washing my hair- in 4 minutes)

I'll probably get at least a little tanner and won't look so pasty.

Today I'm linking up with Tay and Helene!

Psychoneuroimmunology

New here?  Follow us on Bloglovin'!

As previously promised, here's my paper on psychoneuroimmunology.  It's pretty long, but it WAS for school, so yeah.  My sources can be found at the bottom if you're interested in finding out more.

psy·cho·neu·ro·im·mu·nol·o·gy [s̄̀kō noorō ìmmyə nólləjee]

In 2012 there were an estimated 1.6 million new cancer cases reported in the United States (American Cancer Society ).  Such a drastic number raises the question: what if people were capable of healing themselves, free of charge?  There are many cultural references that include a person able to move objects with their mind.  Some even propose humans capable of controlling another with the power of their mind.  People may be able to use their mind to control their own body, just as easily.  Keonig  defines psychoneuroimmunology as “the study of how social and psychological factors affect the neuroendocrine and immune functioning” (Keonig).  In order to best understand Keonig’s definition, it should be broken into four main parts. First are social factors, which can include the environment as well as the behaviors of those in it.  Next, is psychological factors, which can be defined as a person’s mental health, including stressors (events or triggers that cause stress).  The third part involves neuroendocrine cells.  These are cells that receive neuronal input and, as a result, release hormones into the blood.  The last part is the human immune system.  Immune functioning is how the human body uses the immune system for defense against diseases and for healing wounds.  The progression of research on psychoneuroimmunology can, and most likely will, be beneficial to humans in the future.

My 5 Little Grins from this week include. . .

1. On Monday, in hip-hop the teacher let us volunteer for solos and I got one.

2. On Tuesday, we went to a different elementary school for B.O.B..  The kids got to do a practice battle with another school and they had fun.  About the same time last year, the kids who did it had a practice battle and it went horribly.  This one went a lot better and we have a good idea of what they need to work on.  They went to another practice round on Thursday, but I was unable to go.  They have one more tomorrow which should go well.

3. On Wednesday, we started to prep for recital in pointe.  Since not everyone who will be in recital takes the class, it will definitely be interesting when we go to start the dance since everyone will know different things.

4. Friday, I went to a spa/resort with my mom.  We got massages, facials, and a mani-pedi.  It was my first time getting a massage and facial and it was pretty cool.

5. On Sunday, we had family friends come over and my dad did their taxes.  They stayed for a while afterwards which was fun.  We hadn't seen them a lot, but recently we've seen them a bunch!
