Red Carpet Gel Manicure Starter Set Review

I recently got the Red Carpet Manicure set with the RCM Portable Light.  I am very pleased with it so far.  I haven't seen how long it lasts, but if it last as long as it says it does then going through so many steps will definitely be worth it.

First, you prep your nails by pushing back your cuticles and buffing your nails.  You then use their Purify Pre & Post Application cleanser.  It is just a mixture of rubbing alcohol and acetone, so I'm guessing plain rubbing alcohol would work just fine.  Next they have a Prep Max Adhesion Sanitizer.  This comes in a bottle like the polish and has the same kind of brush, but is very thin.  This doesn't need any curing and dries almost instantly.  After that, you apply the Structure Base Coat Gel.  This is thicker and does need curing- 30 seconds for the Pro 45 LED Light or 1 minute for the portable light.  You can then apply your color which you cure for 45 seconds or 3 minutes.  You can apply a second coat of color to get best results.  Next you use Brilliance, which is a top coat.  This cures for 45 seconds or 2 minutes.  Once that is done curing it will still be tacky, but you can use the Purify cleanser to remove the tackiness.

That is a lot more complicated than regular polish since I didn't use a base or top coat when I would paint my nails before!  But, if this lasts for over a week without chips it will absolutely be worth it

This is the pre and post application cleanser and the remover I recieved.  The remover is the same as general nail polish remover so you don’t have to buy this special.

This is the portable LED light that I received from a PR rep.

The kit contains 1 portable battery powered LED light, 1 of each- prep, base, top coat, cuticle oil, and one color polish, 1 bottle of polish remover, 1 bottle of pre & post application

Overall I am very pleased with this product.  The smell isn't as bad as normal polish, as soon as I am done I can touch them and not worry about smudges, and the colors are beautiful!  I can't wait to see how well it holds up!

**UPDATE**
This lasted for almost 4 weeks!  Wonderful!
